Today I planned for a class I will teach.  I planned an English class.  I teach English on the Internet, and I need to plan what we are going to learn in the class.

When I plan for a class, I think about the words I want to teach.  I choose pictures of those words.  I write a story to read at the end of class.

I will teach the class on Friday.  As I teach the class, I will record the class.  After I am finished with the class, I will post the class for people to watch.  People can watch my class on the Internet and learn English.  This class is for beginning English students. Students can learn English through listening to a story.

Teachers need to plan their classes before they teach them.  Planning a class makes the class work better.

Can you answer these questions?

  1. What did I plan for today?
  2. What type of class did I plan for?
  3. Where do I teach English?
  4. What do I think about when I plan for a class?
  5. What will I write?
  6. When will I teach the class?
  7. Will I record the class?
  8. Who can watch my class on the Internet?
  9. How can students learn English?
  10. Why do teachers plan for their classes?

Doctor with Patient
Today I had a doctor's appointment. The appointment was at 1:45. When I scheduled the appointment, they told me I needed to be there fifteen minutes early. I had to be there at 1:30. I arrived at the doctor's office right on time, at 1:30.
I waited for them to call my name. When they called my name, I followed the nurse to an examination room. I waited for the doctor in the examination room.

The doctor examined me.  He wrote a prescription for me on a slip of paper.  He gave me the prescription.

Tomorrow I will take the prescription to the pharmacy.  They will fill the prescription.  I hope the prescription helps me feel better.

Can you answer these questions?

  1. What kind of appointment did I have today?
  2. When was my appointment?
  3. When did they tell me I needed to be there?
  4. What time did I arrive at the doctor's office?
  5. What did I wait for?
  6. Where did I follow the nurse?

Yesterday I took my dog for a walk.  I stopped to talk to a friend.  While I was talking to my friend, my dog rolled in something stinky.  I don't know what she rolled in, but now she stinks.  Her fur smells very bad. Renny lying down

I used a wet washcloth to try to get rid of the smell, but it didn't work.  I used a deodorant spray for dogs to try to get rid of the smell, but it didn't work.  My dog still stinks.

My stinky dog needs to have a bath!

Can you answer these questions?

  1.  When did I take my dog for a walk?
  2. Who did I stop to talk to?
  3. What did my dog do while I was talking to my friend?
  4. How does she smell now?
  5. What smells very bad?
  6. What two things did I use to try to get rid of the smell?
  7. Did using a wet washcloth get rid of the smell?
  8. Why did I use a dedorant spray for dogs?
  9. How does my dog smell now?
  10. What does my stinky dog need?

Most children in the state of Indiana go back to school in August.  They attend school for 180 (one hundred eighty) school days.  Each state in the United States has different laws about when children go to school and for how long.
    School Bus
The law in Indiana says children must go to school for 180 days.  The individual schools decide when to start the school year and when to end it.

The school in the town where I live started school this week.  The children went back to school this week.  They will attend school until June.  The end of the school year will be in June.

Some children like to go back to school because they get to see their friends every day.  I live in a small town, and many children live in the country around our town.  During the summer, they don't get to see their friends very often.  During the school year, they get to see their friends every day.

Can you answer these questions?

  1. When do most children in the state of Indiana go back to school?
  2.  How many days must children in Indiana attend school?
  3. Do all children in all states go to school at the same time?
  4. Who decides when to start the school year and when to end it?
  5. When did school start in the town where I live?
  6. When will the school year end for the children in my town?
  7. Do some children like to go back to school or do all children like to go back to school?
  8. Do I live in a big city or a small town?
  9. Many children don't get to do what during the summer?
  10. Why do some children like to go back to school?

Unfortunately, I have more bad news to share.  The last baby rabbit died, too.  I had put leaves on top of the nest.  I put them there so I could tell if the mother rabbit came back to the nest.  She didn't come back to the nest.  I could tell she didn't come back to the nest because the leaves were still there.  The baby rabbits died because they didn't have anything to eat.

If people try to feed wild baby rabbits, the rabbits usually don't live.  I read that when people feed wild baby rabbits, 90% of wild baby rabbits will die.  I didn't try to feed the babies because I hoped their mother would come back to feed them.

I feel sad that the baby rabbits died.  I feel sad too that something must have happened to their mother.  Something must have happened because she didn't come back to the nest to feed the babies.

Can you answer these questions?

  1. What kind of news did I have to share?
  2. What happened to the last baby rabbit?
  3. What did I put on top of the nest?
  4. How did I know the mother rabbit didn't come back to the nest?
  5. Why did the baby rabbits die?
  6. Do wild baby rabbits usually live if people try to feed them?
  7. What percentage of wild baby rabbits will die if people feed them?
  8. Why didn't I try to feed the baby rabbits?
  9. How do I feel about the baby rabbits dying?
  10. Why must something have happened to the mother rabbit?
